"Education is the Science of Relations"; that is, that a child has natural relations with a vast number of things and thoughts: so we train him upon physical exercises, nature lore, handicrafts, science and art, and upon many living books."

(Charlotte Mason, School Education, p.65-66)

Our Philosophy

We believe that education is more than just academics; it's about holistic growth. Inspired by the visionary educator Charlotte Mason, we embrace her philosophy that education is an atmosphere, a discipline, and a life. Our approach respects the personhood of the children while connecting them to great minds through great books and nature, nurturing a love for learning that extends beyond the lesson time.

Location

The co-op meets in a home located on 5 acres of scenic countryside in Barrington Hills IL. Students have space to roam, run, and play freely within the safety of a fenced enclosure. The property is adjacent to a horse farm, and across the street is the Spring Lake Forest Preserve of Cook County.

Meeting Times

Co-op meets together on Wednesday afternoons during the school year

Student Levels

Current students are in forms one and two (1st-6th grade)

We are interested in growing to more forms. A class for Toddlers-Kinder is looking for a lead teacher.

"Education is not the filling of a pail,

but the lighting of a fire."

– William Butler Yeats
